Ever found yourself stuck in a rut of complacency, achieving a few goals but neglecting many others? I did. In this brutally honest episode of Talk Mode, I bare all about how I let a false sense of achievement hold me back from pushing harder and reaching further. This isn't just about me though - it's about us. This is an invitation for you to reflect on your own journey towards self-improvement and goal achievement.

I delve into the pitfalls of instant gratification, procrastination, and emotional decision making. We'll talk about the hard truths - the importance of discipline, consistency, and accountability. But this isn't just a gripe session. It's a call to action and a commitment to change. So, let's keep each other motivated and accountable! Share your thoughts, experiences, struggles, and triumphs on Twitter or Instagram. Together, let's strive for more. Let's aim higher. I can't wait to hear from you!

Speaker 1:

Hey guys, it's been a while and welcome to another episode of Talk Mode. To be honest, I don't know where to start. I've been doing a lot of self reflection lately. You know, I achieved some goals and I was feeling quite happy. And I achieved some personal goals, achieved some career goals and I was feeling quite happy with myself. You know, and it's good to do that, that's not a bad thing. But I just realised that it's not good enough. It just isn't. I've become complacent. For the two or three goals I achieved, there's another 10 that I didn't achieve. I know I am not going as hard as I could be. I am not doing enough. This is not enough. I could be a lot further along if I stop being so undisciplined. Stop being so lazy, just procrastinating so much and getting distracted by things that give me instant gratification rather than the things that are my end goal, my end game, where I want to be. It's taking too fucking long and that's on me. I'm not putting enough effort, I am not sticking to my guns, I am not sticking to the process. Don't get me wrong. I've achieved a couple of goals, man. That's something to be happy about. But the truth of the matter is. It's not enough, it just isn't.

Speaker 1:

What is the purpose of this particular episode? I don't know. I think part of it is to put my thoughts out there and hold myself accountable that from this day forth, things have got to change. I can't be like, oh, I want to do this thing, I want to achieve this thing, but I'll start it next week, or I'll start it in new years, or oh wait, I've got this left and let me do this first and then I'll do that.

Speaker 1:

And you know you're always making excuses. There's always an excuse not to do something If you allow yourself to get trapped in that circle. And you know, just because things are going decently, you just get so complacent and then you're surprised that you haven't moved, that you haven't taken a step forward since you made that jump in the initials place. You know, I don't even know I'm not really articulating myself really well right now, but I don't know. There's just a lot of I'm feeling a lot of shit. You know and that's another thing that you know I'm quite an emotional person, like I really hold a lot of value to emotions, but sometimes that can be a bit of a mistake. There's a time and place for emotions, don't get me wrong, but sometimes I let what I feel get in the way of what I know I'm supposed to be doing. Let's just use a very standard example.

Speaker 1:

I know to achieve my goals in a gym after go daily yeah, after go every day for five days a week. I need to go gym to be able to achieve the goals I've set for myself For where I want to be. I need to go, especially now in the winter. I wake up in the morning and I don't feel like it and I give in to those fucking feelings way too much. I know I have all these goals I want to achieve and, yeah, you know, you take them one hour time. Whatever you know. However, you want to do it. Whatever your process is, you do that.

Speaker 1:

But because I feel happy about achieving one goal, I've stopped putting in 100% effort into all the other goals and that's fucked. That's not an advantage to me. I need to get back on it. I need focus. I need to stop letting things get in my way and then I need to stop thinking about it and just take action. Do, just do, and you figure it out on the way. Yeah, I don't know, man, let me know. Drop me a message on Twitter, instagram, whatever. Let me know how you're doing with your goals. Are you going hard? Do you get like me and let things get in the way? You achieve a small milestone and you just slow down and procrastinate and be lazy. That's certainly where I'm at at the moment. I've become lazy, I've become complacent Just because I achieve a few things. It's not good enough. It's time to get back on it. Let me know your thoughts. Take care, bye-bye.
