hey, welcome back to another episode of talk mode, and we're back with another book review. But today we are looking at a book by michael conlly, who is one of my favourite authors. At the moment, I really, really am enjoying his books and we're going to be talking about the Lincoln Lawyer. Now you're probably wondering why does that name sound so familiar to me? Well, it's because it was turned into a Netflix series and I believe there's three seasons already. So the Lincoln Lawyer, first published in 2005, weighing in at around 469 pages. It's not the only one of Michael Connelly's books that's been turned into a series. You might also know him from his book series about Harry Bosch, which has been turned into a series called Bosch on Amazon. Again, it's a brilliant tv series and I definitely recommend you go about watch both of those. So let's talk a little bit about the book. Well, it's a legal thriller and I know I've reviewed one not so long ago. But this is a legal thriller with a healthy dose of Los Angeles grit thrown in for good measure.

Our main man, mickey Haller, is not your typical lawyer. Forget fancy suits or mahogany offices. Mickey operates out the back of his Lincoln, which becomes his mobile war room. He takes on whatever cases come his way, the good, the bad and the downright sketchy. But hey, a lawyer's gotta eat right. Things get interesting when Mickey lands a highile case. A rich Beverly Hills playboy is accused of a brutal assault and Mickey is tasked with proving his innocence. Seems like a dream come true. However, as Mickey digs deeper, he realises things are far from black and white. The evidence gets murky, alibis crumble and the whole case starts to reek of something fishy. The author does a fantastic job of weaving a suspenseful narrative, and just when you think you've got it figured out, the rug gets pulled right out from underneath you. There are twists and turns galore, keeping you guessing until the very end. Now the Lincoln Lawyer isn't just about courtroom battles. It delves into the underbelly of Los Angeles, where money talks and danger lurks around every corner. Mickey has to navigate a world of shady characters, corrupt officials and threats that go way beyond legal arguments.

Now, I already started with. This is one of my favourite authors at the minute. So, talking about my star rating, it's 5 out of 5. This has a permanent spot on my bookshelf in my library. Is it worth your time? Absolutely. It's a fast-paced, thrilling read with a complex protagonist and a plot that'll keep you guessing. Here's the thing, though this is a legal thriller, so you gotta expect some courtroom drama and legal jargon, but the author does a great job of making it all accessible, even if you're not a low school graduate.
